Basic text for an in-depth analysis of the different aspects of photographic practice. The approach is not as pragmatic as in Liz Wells’s text, here the texts are a bit more abstract than in the Well’s book, but it is a great help to establish the key elements of any photographic genre.

The book begins with a review of the basic photographic theory, and then analyze in each chapter the main genres: Documentary, Portrait, Landscape, Still Life, Art Photography. Each chapter ends with a brief summary which establishes the keys of the  chapter.

A basic book that has to be on my desk before writing any essay.
